It has certainly been a while since my last post - which is what I mean by "drinks"...never a good idea to leave too long between ACTUAL drinks, as life just is so much better with a glass of red at the end of a busy week. Or white, I'm not that fussy.
And busy I have been. I spent a month in Poatina, an artist colony in Tasmania, writing and re-writing and trying to get this always-promised-never-materialising 2nd album finished. But alas, productivity wasn't as flowing as I'd hoped. But I did get some great stuff done, none the less, and am now back on the gigging trail to try out the new material. I'll be getting critques done at monthly NSAI groups and hopefully by early next year I'll have a solid set of songs I'm happy to spend money recording.
So as the Spring kicks in here in Sydney, and the weather is FINALLY warming up - I can't wait for Summer!! - I am loving the outdoor gigs I've been doing and the daylight stretching into the evening. Spring always feels so full of hope and newness. I love it!
Here's a bit of what I've been up to:
READING - Naomi Wolf's "Vagina. A New Biography". Very interesting, eye opening and ....a little confronting.
WATCHING - Can't help it, I did enjoy Kath and Kimderrella.
PLANNING - My Christmas Shopping!! Early early early this year.
LIKING - the WARM weather, it's Soooooo nice.
DISLIKING - the cost of groceries....is anyone else finding their supermarket bills just keep going up, despite all the sales, specials and loyalty programs????
Hope to see you at a gig soon!
